Widely recognised and known throughout the years for being a critic, author, publisher, speaker, teacher, television presenter, restaurateur, consultant, food ambassador and chef, Violet Oon was recently conferred the Lifetime Achievement for Outstanding Contribution to Tourism at the Singapore Tourism Awards 2019 to honour her extensive body of work in the culinary world. The multi-hyphenate icon has also been inducted into the Singapore Women’s Hall of Fame and awarded two Lifetime Achievement Awards by the World Gourmet Summit and Asian Masters. With a reputation for elevating and celebrating local flavours, Violet presently co-owns 5 restaurants and has a range of food merchandise to put Singapore’s diverse culinary heritage on the global stage.
