As the Chief Executive Officer of AXA Asia, Gordon Watson leads the company’s rapidly growing region comprised of seven key markets.
With more than 30 years of global experience in the insurance sector, 20 of which have been spent in Asia, Gordon believes in the power of collaboration, diversity, and innovation to drive sustainable growth for AXA. Prior to joining AXA, Gordon held key senior roles at AIG/AIA spanning multiple continentsand cities including New York, London, Nairobi, Dubai, Tokyo, Seoul and Hong Kong.
Gordon led the operations of AIG Life Companies for both Japan and Korea as Regional President and was also the Global Executive Vice Chairman for Alico. In Gordon’s most recent role prior to joining AXA, he was the Regional Chief Executive of AIA Group.
Gordon serves as a member of AXA Group’s Management Committee. He also sits on a number of boards including the International Board of the Shared Value Project (SVP) and serves as its founding Chair in Hong Kong. Gordon also sits on the Advisory Board at Cyberport for Fintech, the Asian Board of the Saltire Foundation, Entrepreneurial Scotland, and the Parents’ Leadership Council for Boston College, U.S.A. Gordon is also AXA’s executive sponsor of global brand.
