Biography
Gina Neff is Professor of Technology and Society at the Oxford Internet Institute and the Department of Sociology at the University of Oxford. She is author of the award-winning book Venture Labor: Work and the Burden of Risk in Innovative Industries (MIT Press 2012). New York Review of Books called her book Self-Tracking (MIT Press 2016) one of the best books about the politics of personal data. She holds a Ph.D. in sociology from Columbia University, where she remains an external faculty affiliate. Named as one of the 100+ Brilliant Women in AI Ethics, she serves as an advisor to the Women’s Forum on the Economy & Society, GMG Ventures & The Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism.
