Description

Gelsomina Vigliotti has been appointed Vice President of the EIB - European Investment Bank - on 11 October 2021. Until October 2021, Gelsomina Vigliotti has been the Director General for International Financial Relations at the Italian Treasury. Ms Vigliotti was in charge of coordinating the activities related to the international economic, monetary and financial system and multilateral development institutions. In this position, she has been serving as Deputy Deputy to the G7 and G20 groups and has been responsible for preparing and managing the Italian G7 Presidency in 2017 and G20 Presidency in 2021 under the finance track. She also served as the Italian Alternate Governor of the major multilateral development banks. She has been member of the EIB - European Investment Bank - Board of Directors and member of the Administrative Council of the CEB - Council of Europe Development Bank. Prior to that, she was Director for European Union and Euro area issues at the Italian Treasury holding the position of Alternate of the Economic and Financial Committee and Alternate Director of the European Stability Mechanism. Ms. Vigliotti holds a degree in Political Sciences from the LUISS University in Rome and a M.Sc. in Economics from the University of York. She also studied at the University La Sapienza in Rome and the London School of Economics and Political Science.
