Description

2nd Vice-President and Minister for Economy and Digitalization. Member of the corps of State Economist and Trade Experts of the Spanish PA since 1994, she was former DG in charge of the Budget within the EC, where she previously held other senior management positions: Deputy DG for Financial Services and Deputy DG in the DG for Competition - Mergers and Antitrust. Before joining the EC she was a civil servant at the Ministry of Economy in Spain, in the areas of foreign trade, macroeconomic analysis and forecasting, economic policy and competition. Senior roles included Deputy DG for Legal Affairs, Deputy DG for Mergers and DG for Competition. She holds degrees in Economics and in Law.
