Description
Virginie Herz is an International Affairs Editor for France 24. She is also the host and creator of Actuelles, a show on women reshaping the world. When not on-air, Virginie is a senior producer.
A Franco-German, she is fluent in French, German, English and Spanish.
Virginie studied political science, European affairs and journalism in France, Germany, the UK and Spain. Beginning her career as a freelance correspondent in Thailand, she later reported for French public TV. She joined France 24 at its launch in 2006.
As a senior reporter, she has covered a broad array of international crises, conflicts and high-level summits. Her report on the Guinean putsch leader, “Dadis Camara”, was nominated for two major French awards (Prix Albert Londres, Prix Bayeux des correspondants de guerre).
In 2018, she won the gold medal in broadcast journalism of the Ricardo Ortega prize awarded by the U.N. Correspondents’ Association for her work on Actuelles. Virginie is also an experienced moderator and conference host.
