Description
Anne-Cécile Mailfert is a French activist for women’s rights and writer. In 2016, she founded the Fondation des Femmes (Women’s Foundation) and has been its president ever since. The Fondation des Femmes is the reference when it comes to women’s rights and issues in France. It is the first French organization dedicated to fundraising from the public at large for the purpose of developing and supporting actions in favor of women’s rights. On May 25, 2018, Anne-Cécile secured the first conviction for public insult on the basis of gender - a recognised infraction to the law since 2004 which had yet to be formally applied in France.
