Description
Whitney is currently based in London, UK and is the Global Events Manager at The New York Times, where she curates live programming for a global audience.
Before joining the global team, she worked as a Visual Editor at The Times, covering business and technology. Whitney has also written and produced articles for the Times photography column "Lens," highlighting trends in the photo industry, as well as promoting new media from emerging artists. Her work as a photo editor received first place for Feature Multimedia Story in the 2017 Best of Photojournalism contest.
Whitney co-produced the 2015 and 2016 New York Times Portfolio Review, organizing more than 300 photographers, editors and curators from around the world for the annual two-day event. She also curated the Lens photo exhibit, "Looking Forward," at the Lagos Photo Festival in Nigeria in 2015. She has lectured on emerging trends in visual journalism at Harvard University, Yale University School of Arts, World Press Photo Master Class in West Africa, Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, New York University and Lagos Photo Festival.
Whitney graduated from the Scripps Howard School of Journalism and Communications at Hampton University with a degree in print journalism.
