INDIAN, 24 Richa is an educator and social entrepreneur. She is the co-founder of Labhya Foundation, a nonprofit that enables over 2.5 Million children from low socio-economic backgrounds with the necessary skills to cope with poverty & become lifelong learners through Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) programs, at scale in India. Additionally, Richa’s nonprofit reaches children in over 20,000 schools across 11 states of India. Her nonprofit’s internationally recognised programs have been visited by eminent personalities like His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and the First Lady of the United States of America. Richa’s passion for education stems from her lived experience as a child and her extensive work with children from refugee, migrant, and other at-risk communities, from the age of 16. During her journey, Richa has worked with education nonprofits like Teach For All and Teach For India. Currently, Richa is a Master's candidate at Harvard Graduate School of Education, where she also serves as an Equity & Inclusion fellow and a Harvard Ministerial Leadership Fellow. Richa was chosen as the 2019 Country Ambassador (India) to the 10th G(irls)20 Summit in Japan and was awarded as the ‘Best Entrepreneur 2019’ by the Takeda Foundation. Richa also serves on the Youth Advisory Board to UNICEF India.
