Daniela Nascimento Fainberg, 47, philanthropy and social investment advisor for high networth individuals, senior advisor of the Synergos Institute for the Global Philanthropists Circle, founder of Instituto Geração, and co-founder of Public Transformation Network. She advises individuals and families in their philanthropic strategies, creating structures, processes, strategic planning, programs, selecting, monitoring and evaluating social projects. She also works for families on their intergenerational dialogue, helping them aligned their values to their social legacy. Donor education programs and building bridges to different social contexts were always part of her work.
Mrs. Nascimento Fainberg has 24 years of experience working in promoting philanthropy and social investment in Brazil and Latin America. Until September of 2021 she was Synergos Director for Latin America, that promote and strength philanthropy at the region. She lead the Brazilian office and Latin America Program for a network of philanthropists where she offered opportunities of development of their philanthropy, collaborations with other social organizations and philanthropists, and self development as social leaders. She created with Synergos in 2016 a next generation program to engage young leaders of Brazilian elite to be agents of social change, and philanthropists.
She started her career in philanthropy in 1997 working at São Paulo office of W.K.Kellogg Foundation monitoring the Latin American projects. From 2000-2004 she moved to IDIS — Institute for the Development of Social Investment — where she created and managed their Family Philanthropy Program, advising families on their social investments. In 2005, as a social entrepreneur Daniela created the New Generation Pro¬gram, a social initiative to foment privileged youth between 25 to 40 years old with philanthropy and social engagement. In 2007 she founded the Instituto Geração (Generation Institute), the first Brazilian non-profit organization to encourage and support the new generation of privileged individuals in re-thinking their role and practices towards social change. She directed Instituto Geração until 2012, when she moved to the Board and started her own advisory company.
Mrs. Fainberg is part of the Rising Talent Program, an initiative of the Women’s Forum since 2011. She is also a professor at Fundação Dom Cabral, a leading Business School in Brazil, on their Family Business Program for shareholders and inheritors. Mrs. Nascimento Fainberg was on the Board of Akatu Institute for conscious consumption in São Paulo, Brazil. In 2010 she co-founded Rede de Transformação Pública a network from young leaders form Rio and São Paulo to influence public transformation, and in 2014 she was part of a group that created Legacy Project, that supports Congressman that are aligned with the group’s agenda on the areas of education, public management and security. She was also a Fellow of Americas Business Council Foundation, an international organization that provides a platform for Latin American emerging leaders. She is a frequent speaker on the role of the next generation in social change, and family philanthropy. She received her degree in Social Sciences from the University of São Paulo, Brazil. She is married and has two kids: Sofia, and João Paulo.
