Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz

Description

Wachtell Lipton was founded on a handshake in 1965 as a small group of lawyers dedicated to providing advice and expertise at the highest levels. We have experience in the fields of mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments, takeovers and takeover defense, shareholder activism, corporate and securities law and corporate governance and we handle some of the largest, most complex and demanding transactions in the United States and around the world. Working on a task-force basis on all our cases, we bring to bear the requisite mix of people and expertise across practice areas. Our innovative structure and approach attract talented and entrepreneurial lawyers, enabling us to achieve outstanding outcomes for our clients in complex and critical matters. We are a cohesive team of lawyers intensely focused on solving our clients’ most important problems. We are deeply committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment that supports the recruitment, retention, and advancement of women from all backgrounds and at all levels of the Firm. We believe in the importance of recruiting a diverse and talented group of lawyers, and we celebrate our involvement with organizations dedicated to this goal. As an original signatory to the New York City Bar’s Statement of Goals for Increasing Minority Representation and Retention, we are proud to prioritize diversity in its broadest form. We are founding members of the Kate Stoneman Project (KSP), which provides a forum to address issues regarding the advancement of women in the legal profession, and we are actively engaged in the group’s programming for attorneys and law school students. Additionally, we sponsor corporate members of the National Association of Women Lawyers (NAWL), providing our women attorneys with full access to their programming and networking opportunities. Our commitment to gender equity has been recognized by various organizations. Recently, we were recognized by the Diversity & Flexibility Alliance for having 50% or more women in our new partner classes. We were also recognized by the Yale Law Women’s Top Firms for Gender Equity & Family Friendliness Report in March 2021 in the Training & Mentorship category and we have been honored among the Top Firms for Inclusion Initiatives. We are proud to support the Women’s Forum and share in their commitment to empowering women’s voices and perspectives to drive forward-thinking initiatives for societal change.
