Description

Gayle Tzemach Lemmon’s work focuses on sustainable finance, inclusive security and expanding how we define the investable universe. She is the author of three New York Times best-selling books, The Dressmaker of Khair Khana (2011), about a young entrepreneur who supported her community under the Taliban; Ashley’s War: The Untold Story of a Team of Women Soldiers on the Special Ops Battlefield (2015); and The Daughters of Kobani (2021), about the women who fought the Islamic State. Among the topics her written work has focused on: the relationship among climate, natural disaster, fragility and child marriage, the power of investing in women entrepreneurs, and the economic imperative of girls’ education. A graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism and Harvard Business School, she is a member of ICRW’s Leadership Council and the Bretton Woods Committee.
