Saba leads the Global Networks team at Vital Voices Global Partnership. Saba oversees Vital Voices’ human rights and gender-based violence programming, including the Voices Against Violence initiative and the Urgent Assistance Fund, which has helped thousands of women’s rights leaders, their local organizations and survivors of violence throughout the years. Saba led efforts to evacuate over 1,100 Afghan women leaders and their families, providing holistic care and overseeing their resettlement. Saba has worked for over 15 years as an advocate for women’s rights for both the US Government and different NGOs, including Women for Women International, where she oversaw their social empowerment program, and led efforts on women’s leadership and advocacy, sexual and reproductive rights, violence against women, disability inclusion, and men’s engagement. Prior to that, Saba was a Senior Gender Advisor in various offices at the Department of State including the Secretary’s Office of Global Women’s Issues, the Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons and more. Saba has dedicated her life to ending all forms of violence against women and girls, especially in the South Asian and Muslim communities.
