Laurence des Cars (born in 1966) general heritage curator, was appointed President of the Public Establishment of the Musée d’Orsay et de l’Orangerie in March 2017 by the President of the French Republic, at the proposal of the Minister of Culture. Since her appointment in March 2017, Laurence des Cars has completely renewed and revitalised the Musées d’Orsay et de l’Orangerie. For these two collections, the finest in the world for Impressionism and Post-Impressionism, Laurence des Cars has rolled out a programme of exhibitions, live shows and a new presentation of the works oriented towards all audiences, and open to the artists of today.
