Mara Tanelli was born in Lodi, Italy, in 1978. Since April 2015, she is Associate Professor of
Automatic Control at the Politecnico di Milano, where she obtained the M.Sc. in Computer Engineering in 2003 and the Ph.D. in Information
Engineering in 2007. She also hold an M.Sc. in Computer Science from the Universiry of Illinois at Chicago. Her research interests focus on smart mobility systems. Since 2018, she serves in the steering committee of the Diversity&Inclusion (D&I) board at the Politecnico di Milano, amd she is one of the authors of the first gender balance that was published in 2019. With other colleagues, she is also doing research projects in the area of quantitative D&I tools.
