Demet Russ has started her professional journey as a strategic management consultant at McKinsey & Co. in 1998. As a consultant, she worked on strategy, marketing, process optimization and post-merger-management projects for clients in the financial, retail, high-tech, and healthcare sectors. During her tenure at McKinsey, she also received her MBA degree from INSEAD, France.
After having worked for Novartis in Strategy and Business Development; she joined Janssen in Germany in 2005 as a Business Unit Controller. After having held increasing responsibilities in Germany, she led the regional business controlling team of Janssen EMEA.
In 2011 she was appointed as Finance Director for Janssen France where she led finance, procurement and supply chain teams. In 2014, she moved to the US and led the global Janssen R&D Operations Finance Team. She is today the VP Finance; CFO for Janssen EMEA.
Her personal approach focuses on continuous learning and innovation, inclusion, collaboration and accountability. She strives to create a mindful work environment in which people can find “time to think” and develop themselves to their full potential.
