Jasmine Samantar is the Founder/CEO of Samawat Energy. She has seen the impact lack of electrification has in off-grid locations, during time spent in sub-Saharan Africa. Jasmine aspires to utilize Samawat Energy to end the rural-urban energy fault line and increase healthcare access in the region. Prior to founding Samawat Energy, she was appointed First Secretary to the Permanent Mission of Somalia to the UN. She previously served as Policy Advisor on Issues Regarding Human Rights. She received an MSc in Comparative Political Economy from the London School of Economics & Political Science (LSE). Jasmine also obtained a BA in Public International Law & Politics from Sciences Po Paris.
