WOMEN'S FORUM GLOBAL MEETING 2020

Saint-Gobain

Saint-Gobain designs, manufactures and distributes materials and solutions which are key ingredients in the wellbeing of each of us and the future of all. They can be found everywhere in our living places and our daily life: in buildings, transportation, infrastructure and in many industrial applications. They provide comfort, performance and safety while addressing the challenges of sustainable construction, resource efficiency and climate change. With 2019 sales of €42.6 billion, Saint-Gobain operates in 70 countries and has 171,000 employees of over 100 different nationalities. As one of the 100 most innovative companies, Saint-Gobain continues to deploy its technological know-how, often in partnership with the most prestigious universities and laboratories. In fact, more than 23% of our sales are generated through products which were developed less than five years ago. For a rich, open corporate culture that is in tune with the world around us, we at Saint-Gobain recognize and respect the uniqueness of each individual. We want to integrate and mobilize these differences by creating an environment that promotes equity and equality, which are essential to true professional growth. We therefore commit to a principle of zero tolerance regarding discrimination and to promoting diversity in all its forms: gender diversity, but also regarding nationality, social origin, training, professional background, generational diversity or disability. Our policy on inclusion and diversity is driven by three complementary levers: • a proactive policy adapted to local contexts that increases the diversity of the teams, • internal promotions and managerial integration that promote internal diversity, • equitable remuneration and access to training and promotion that foster equal opportunities. To monitor the effects of this policy, we have created a global diversity indicator that integrates the diversity of gender, nationality and experience. We are committed to maintaining this index above 90% at all times. Gender parity objectives at different hierarchical levels are also monitored by the Board of Directors. Our performance in terms of inclusion and diversity allows us to be included in the Bloomberg Gender Equality Index 2019.
