Atti Worku is the Founder and CEO of Seeds of Africa, a New York City 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to developing the educational foundation for the next generation of African leaders.
Worku’s efforts have been recognized with an African Diaspora Award for Community Service, and The African Youth Excellence Honorary Award. In support of the United Nations International Decade for People of African Descent, Worku was recently named one of the Most Influential People of African Descent (MIPAD) class of 2019.
Teen Vogue called her an impactful Female Leader. She has been a speaker and panelist at The Skoll World Forum, The African Philanthropy Forum, The United Nations, Ford Foundation, Bloomberg Philanthropies, and Women4Climate. She contributes to HuffPost on Education and Development in Africa, and her essay on girls' education as a global climate change solution was published in the book Why Women Will Save the Planet. As a contributor to Skoll.org, Worku has written multiple Essays on power dynamics and Racial Injustice in Philanthropy.
Worku attended Columbia University, where she graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Sustainable Development in 2014. She is a 2019 Gratitude Network Fellow. She won Miss Ethiopia in 2005, and represented world-renowned fashion and beauty brands as an international model.
