Nicole is a senior writer at The Edge Singapore, an independent weekly business newspaper where she covers technology, startups, funding, alternative investments and occasionally ESG. She had previously written for RestofWorld and Sixth Tone, and independently directed a few short-form documentaries. Nicole's more personal areas of interest include gender and identity, and she founded one of the first few feminist podcasts in Southeast Asia, Something Private, back in 2019.

Economic abuse is behaviour which controls a victim’s ability to acquire, use, and maintain resources, thus threatening their economic security and potential for self-sufficiency. In combating this, women’s education around employment, financial law and resource management are powerful tools of empowerment. Which tools exist to help women improve their financial literacy? How can this learning be more broadly accessible?
