Assel, the founder of EDUTech Future, brings 18 years of expertise in edtech and global development. Her flagship Break into Tech programmes designed with mentors, founders, and big tech executives, have empowered early to mid-career professionals from 7 Asian countries: https://maven.com/edu-tech-future/bit-mid-career. Assel is the driving force behind the Entrepreneurs and Tech4Good Champions Network (ETCN). Through ETCN, she sparks executive leadership discussions on the challenges and opportunities presented by technology. Her track record includes consulting with the World Bank, EU, WHO, UNICEF, UNFPA, FAO, and the SPOON Foundation on social impact projects. As the Asia-Pacific Program Manager for Future Ready Skills at Microsoft, Assel has successfully launched skills programs across 10 markets in Asia. Passionate about empowering young people and lifelong learners with AI, Assel has been a global judge at Microsoft’s Imagine Cup Junior (ICJ) AI for Good Competition for students aged 5–18. She was an invited judge at Malaysia’s National ICJ Competition from 2021 to 2023. Assel is a gamified learning designer with Sententia, with an ‘outstanding’ evaluation for her level 2 certification project Break into Tech SG: Reimagine Your Career with AI. As an active member of the Microsoft Gamification Advisory Board, Assel contributes valuable insights across the company. She serves as a Microsoft in Education Global Training Partner, Asia-Pacific Learning Partner, and Generative AI educator, having trained 450 university professors and 140 early to mid-career professionals across Asia. Beyond her professional pursuits, Assel is a certified SUP surf coach, advocating for personalised, nurturing, and inclusive learning experiences as a level playing field. She holds an M.A. in Political Science from OSCE Academy in Bishkek and a master's in public policy from the LKY School, National University of Singapore.
