Description

Chantelle Stratford PSM holds the position of Chair for APEC's Policy Partnership on Women and the Economy and is Australia’s Principal Gender Specialist within the G20. Previously serving as the Head of Australia’s Office for Women, her leadership has been pivotal in driving significant reforms in pay transparency, gender budgeting, economic equality and addressing gender-based violence. Awarded a Public Service Medal in 2024 for her contributions to gender equality, Chantelle plays a key role in shaping global economic dialogues through a feminist lens. She holds advanced degrees in gender equality and public policy.

Violence impacts 1 in 3 women and girls globally of all ages, income levels, races, ethnicities, faiths and cultures. This session examines how these factors intersect with gender and impact how, when and why women experience higher levels of violence. What is currently being done to tackle these unacceptable levels of violence against women and girls in Asia and where do we go from here?
