Description

Fernn Lim is the Chief Operating Officer for audax, a corporate venture backed by Standard Chartered Bank. audax enables any bank to rapidly deploy and scale digital banking solutions. Based in Singapore, Fernn deputises the CEO and leads the team across 5 markets overseeing various functions of the company, namely People, Marketing & Communications, Shareholder Engagements, Legal/Corporate Secretarial, New Markets entity setup and Business Operations. Prior to Standard Chartered, Fernn was the Head of Culture and Fintech Acceleration of The Open Vault at OCBC. She was the founding member of the team, led OCBC’s corporate accelerator and steered OCBC’s Fintech ecosystem engagement plans. Fernn also helped to expand the team to set up The Open Vault at OCBC in Malaysia and spearheaded the team to win Asian Banker’s Best Innovation Centre 2018. She also sits on the Money 20/20 RISE UP Advisory Board, aimed to develop the next generation of women leaders in the Financial Services and Fintech Industry. She is also part of the BoardAgender cohort, an initiative of the SCWO that helps advance women leaders in boardrooms in Singapore. Fernn is a 3 X founding member, having successfully built foundational 0 - 1 teams. She was also voted Top #5 Women in Fintech (APAC), Top #15 Fintech Women (Asia), Top #25 Women in Fintech (Global) over the years. Fernn has spoken at events such Money 20/20, The Economist, Asian Banker’s Future of Finance Summit, Institute of Banking & Finance and Singapore Fintech Festival. Fernn has worked in different sectors in both London and Singapore. She is a double Masters holder (MEd Mathematics and MA Innovation Management) and has a degree in Mathematics

Given existing inequalities in education between genders, how can we ensure that women have access to learning around cryptocurrency, blockchain and other financial technologies which have gone from fringe technologies to widely adopted financial tools?
