The Women’s Forum held a special brainstorming session in Beijing on May 13 under the theme: The crisis as a game plan changer: Perspectives on a new Economy and new Societies with Today and Tomorrow’s Women Leaders. The brainstorming was led by Professor Joseph Stiglitz, Nobel Prize winner for Economics, to reflect on the impact of the present crisis on the way our economies have been functioning so far.

This intimate gathering of about 100 women business leaders and senior executives from around the world was also an opportunity to discuss under the theme “Women as the new growth driver” to contribute actively to the efforts towards integrating more women in an even more meaningful way into corporate and economic life.

This afternoon was much marked by a very dynamic interaction between the moderator, speakers and the Audience as well as sharp and open question from excellent women from various background.

The event was of course also much marked by the global economic crisis and its multi-dimensional impact, and it was clear for all participants that this crisis is a time to reflect and rethink what we can do to better the world in which we live and to look at how women can contribute to our rapidly changing world.
