Mara Marinaki is the first-ever Principal Advisor on Gender issues and on the implementation of the UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security at the European External Action Service, appointed in 2015 by the EU High-Representative Vice-President Federica Mogherini. Previously, since 2011, she served as Managing Director for Global affairs at the European External Action Service. Before joining the EU’s institutions she served in a wide range of diplomatic positions for the Greek administration.
