Nazma Akter an Ashoka Fellow, President of Sommilito Garments Sramik Federation, Founder and Executive Director of Awaj Foundation, has been fighting to improve workers’ rights especially for women workers for the last 32 years. Her main mandate is to increase women's participation in decision making position at home, workplace and to promote women's empowerment. Also to help them improve their negotiation skills and build a better relationship between workers and managers, as well as a harmonious environment in the garment industry of Bangladesh.
