Sport is a field characterised by long-lasting and harmful stereotypes that are hard to deconstruct; this affects the participation of women, their salaries as athletes, the financial investments, as well as the media coverage of some disciplines. However, sport can also represent a platform for women to take up more space and to question gender biases at the core.
