Marlène Schiappa, current President of the NGO Actives and Associates at Tilder, is a former minister of Emmanuel Macron's governments from 2017 to 2023, notably as Minister in charge of Gender Equality. During her tenure, she spearheaded the multi-party debate on domestic violence (Grenelle contre les violences conjugales), a national initiative with a hundred of local debates taking place throughout France.
She’s also the creator of Maman Travaille, a network actively involved in offering concrete solutions to governmental agencies and private organizations to improve work-life balance, gender equality at work and at home. She has published numerous studies for the Fondation Jean Jaurès, as well as some 30 books on the topic of women in the workplace, including Plafond de mère which highlights the difficulties faced by mothers regarding their professional evolution and opportunities.
Mrs Schiappa is currently part of Tilder, a consulting firm specialized in advising today and tomorrow’s leaders from both the public and private sectors, where she was appointed partner in November 2023.
Mrs Schiappa is also known for her personal involvement, working with women leaders and committed organizations. She has been awarded the Forbes Women's Prize several times and the Équilibres Prize for breaking the taboo of miscarriage in the workplace.
She continuously strives towards educating the world on gender issues through multiple mediums, making her an essential figure of women’s rights not only in France but throughout the world.
