Description

Michèle Sabban brings to clients decades of experience of the French political and institutional ecosystem as well as a strong expertise in the fields of international relations, development, environment and women’s rights.    Ms Sabban was a member of the regional council of Ile-de-France (Paris region) between 1998 and 2015. Through her several mandates, she played a central role in strengthening cooperation between the Ile-de-France region and its European and international partners. In 2008, she took her European commitment to the next level by becoming the first woman to be elected President of the Assembly of European Regions, which she led until 2013.    Committed to fight against climate change, Ms Sabban also played a central role in R20 Regions of Climate Action, a non-profit organization that she co-founded in 2010 together with other global leaders, such as the former governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger. R20 brings together regions, provinces, and states from across the world to fight against climate change. She currently serves as President of R20’s Green Fund for Women, a concrete expression of her dedication to women empowerment through environmental initiatives.   Until 2015, Ms Sabban also chaired the Global Fund for Cities Development. This international political organization aims to enhance solidarity and financial capacities among local communities, complementing existing advocacy networks.  she is president of the company Mas Conseil, a government lobbying and networking company for all environmental, economic and educational projects.   Ms Sabban also works with different women-focused NGOs in Africa, where she regularly travels.

With mainstream parties pushing for gender progress and some radical forces advocating traditional roles, women's rights, bans for reproductive rights etc. Join us to discuss strategies for effective political representation and how to create inclusive spaces for conciliation, where women's voices are heard and catalysed into action.
