Ms Yaël Braun-Pivet was born in 1970. She is a committed politician and lawyer. Defending the Republic and fighting for justice are at the heart of her values and permeate her personal and professional commitment. Deeply involved in community work, she set up free legal consultations to guarantee access to social rights and justice for all, within the Restos du Cœur association. She also set up a reception centre for the most disadvantaged in the Paris
suburbs. She was elected to the National Assembly in 2017, then Chair of the Law Committee, becoming the second woman to hold this position. In 2022, she was appointed Minister for Overseas within the Government. In June 2022, she became the first woman in history to become President of the National Assembly of the French Republic. In July 2024, she has been re-elected for a second mandate.
